When Tiwa Savage released her Water & Garri EP months ago, I don’t think anybody thought she’d have a smash hit.

Especially since the EP received mixed to negative reviews from critics and fans alike. But since, her song, “Somebody’s Son” featuring popular R&B singer, Brandy, has received the single treatment with a video, and all that, it’s been literally everywhere.

The melancholic anthem, which is about her (Tiwa Savage‘s) unluckiness with guys and her hopes Mr. Right will find her one day, has since become a soundtrack for all single ladies across the country.

But I gotta tell you, it is madness. You turn on the radio, “Somebody’s Son” is playing, you turn on the TV and there is Tiwa and Brandy in front of you taking turns to vocalize, you go to your status updates and there’s like three TikToks with the song. The virality of the song is indeed maddening.

“Somebody’s Son” just might be Tiwa Savage‘s biggest song since “Eminado.” Just saying. Although it is, as a matter of fact, a good thing for the 38-year-old mother of one, I think we’ve heard enough already abeg. I’m tired of hearing “Somebody’s Son” o.
