Olamide Opens Up On Almost Quitting Music, Inspiration Behind ‘Ikigai’ Album (VIDEO)

Nigerian rapper and singer Olamide Adedeji, better known as Olamide Baddo, has disclosed that he nearly abandoned his music career after a four-year break.

In an interview with entertainment journalist Ounmou, Olamide revealed he considered shifting his focus entirely to songwriting but eventually realized that music was his true calling.

Meanwhile, Olamide’s latest album, *Ikigai*, has been making waves in the music industry, particularly with standout tracks like “Hello Habibi” and “Metaverse.” The Japanese concept of Ikigai, which means living a life of purpose, resonated deeply with Olamide during his period of introspection.

However, the singer’s last album, Carpe Diem, was released in 2020, and Olamide has now returned with a renewed passion for music. Additionally, he credits his realization that music is his purpose in life for inspiring his comeback.

Also, Olamide’s honesty about his struggles and triumphs has endeared him to fans. Lastly, Ikigai is proof of his continued relevance in Nigeria’s music industry.
