The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) successfully apprehended the suspected owner of a tramadol shipment hidden in dietary supplements at Murtala Muhammed Airport on Tuesday.
The arrest was made on Friday, as confirmed by NDLEA’s spokesman, Mr. Femi Babafemi.
A viral video had falsely claimed that the suspect, tortured and slapped on Tuesday, was an employee of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
However, FAAN clarified on Wednesday that the individual was associated with an aviation services company within the airport premises, and the passenger accused him of attempting to use him to traffic drugs to Accra, Ghana.
