Every year, Nigerians Video directors produce the best music videos to improve and help the popularity of many songs.

This year, we saw a lot of creative and unique videos that increased sales of singles and albums, which resulted in many important Nigerian artists becoming even more popular.

Of course, all the behind-the-scenes work is usually credited to respected artists. However, these music directors’ efforts cannot be ignored.

We will give you the list in no particular order, and you tell us which one of them you think deserves the Music Video Director Of The Year Award.

DAMMY TWITCH

Apampa Owolabi Oluwadamilola, professionally known as Dammy Twitch, has been the pioneer of new music video concepts in Nigeria. He is an innovator who often comes up with unusual ideas that are usually not seen in other videos. His videos are always full of surprises, and he deserves recognition for his creativity and innovation.

He continued those high-profile creativity video directing in 2022, and he directed Davido’s “Stand Strong” featuring The Samples and Naira Marley’s “Montego Bay video.” Twitch was also on Forbes 30 under 30 list which was released this year.

DIRECTOR K

Director K’s body of work this year is exceptional. He has an eye for detail and knows how to make every shot count. His videos are very well conceptualized and executed. He has worked with some of Nigeria’s top artistes such as Wizkid, Skepta, Davido, Burna Boy, and many others, and he won the best music video of the year at the 2020 Headies Award. He directed Second Sermon by Black Sherif ft Burna, Balloon D’or, Calm down by Rema, and many more.

TG OMORI

If you love music, you would have heard of TG Omori. He is one of the most sought-after music video directors in Nigeria. He has created some of the most iconic music videos and is a legend in his own right.

His videos are always entertaining, engaging, and unique. He has also won many awards for his creativity and excellent work in the music industry. He has directed videos for top artists such as Davido, Wizkid, Mayorkun and many others.

This year, he has directed Ololade Asake’s “Sungba” video, Fireboy DML’s “Playboy” video, Rema’s “Are You There?” video, Asake’s “Peace be Unto You Video”, Kizz Daniel’s “BUGA” video and lots more.

THE ALIEN

The Alien is a music video director who has been in the scene for a while now. He has directed over 200 music videos, many of which have won awards. His dedication to his craft is evident in the quality of his videos.

So far in 2022, he’s worked with Kizz Daniel on “Oshe” video  and also BNXN(Buju) for “Kilometre” remix video with Zinoleesky.

CLARENCE PETERS

Clarence Peters is a Nigerian film director and producer who has made a name for himself in the Nigerian movie industry.

He is one of the most successful directors in Nigeria, having won several awards, including the African Movie Academy Award for Best Director.

He has worked with several artists, including Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, and Yemi
