A music producer assumes a crucial part with regards to making music, singers will only sing but it is the work of the producer to make a decent beat that occasionally will conceal some artiste botches.

A music producer is a visionary for the overall sound and feel of a record or album. They visualize and imagine the end result, so they must be able to listen, experiment, and explore all aspects of music.

Nigerian music producers over the years have improved in music wise whereby we have some top producers now music artists, that is, they now understand what people want to listen to and the type of sound they want.

This year (2022), we’ve witnessed new sounds in the music industry but of course, the credits are usually directed to the artiste but not the producer.

However, the music producers are the ones who created the mood of the songs we listen to, and their efforts and hard work cannot be ignored.

Let’s take a look at some of the music producers that burst our heads this year.

Magicsticks

Kareem Olasunkanmi Temitayo, professionally known as Magicsticks also known for the tag ‘Tune into the King of Sounds and Blues‘.

At the start of 2022, he formed a successful artist-producer combo with the Nigerian singer-songwriter Asake, as he went on producing, mixing and mastering process both of his debut EP, Ololade, and his debut album, Mr. Money with the Vibe.

Magicsticks has produced Nigerian music for the likes of Young John, Mayorkun, Oxlade, Niniola, Olamide, Lil Kesh and Mr Eazi.

He produced DJ Spinall‘s “Palazo” With Asake, “Bad Boy” by Oxlade x Mayorkun, “Oshey Boys” by Mayorkun, Tiwa Savage‘s “Loaded” with Asake.

P-Prime

Peace Emmanuel Aderogba Oredope, professionally known as P.Priime, popularly known for the tag “P“, “Giddem“, at the beginning or end of all his productions.

He produced “Bandana” by Fireboy DML ft. Asake, “Electricity” by Davido and Pheelz, Wizkid‘s “Pressure“, DJ Tunez “Majo” and all the tracks on Asa‘s album “V“.

He also produced 3 tracks from the newly released ‘Black Panther‘ movie soundtrack, he produced ‘Alone‘ by Burna Boy, ‘Coming Back To You‘ by Fireboy DML and ‘Anya Mmiri‘ by Ckay & Pinkpantheress.

P2J

Richard Olowaranti Mbu Isong, professionally known as P2J is a Nigerian-British producer from London, England

P2J produced almost all the tracks on Wizkid‘s new album “More Love, Less Ego“.

He also produced 4 songs “Science“, “Whiskey“, “Dirty Secrets“, “For My hand” on Burna Boy‘s album “Love, Damini“.

Reward Beatz

Wale Adeola, professionally known as Reward Beatz, popularly known for the tag ‘Banger‘ at the beginning or end of all his productions.

The 21-year-old talented beatmaker has produced some of our favourite songs this year, the biggest of which is Kizz Daniel’s mega-hit, “Buga.”

He also produced Young Jonn‘s “Xtra Cool“.

Blaisebeatz

Marcel Akunwata, professionally known as Blaisebeatz.

Blaisebeatz has produced for big artistes such as Wizkid, Skiibii, Tekno, Tiwa Savage and so on, He rose to stardom in 2020 with, the production hit “Pami” by DJ Tunez.

He was the producer behind Chris Brown and Wizkid’s “Call Me Everyday“, Kizz Daniel‘s “Cough“, also co-produced “Buga” with Reward Beatz, Blaqbonez “Ess Mama“, Buju (BNXN) “In My Mind”, “No Wahala” by 1daBaton and more.

Andre Vibez

Alexandre Uwaifo aka Andre Vibez is one of the sons of late music icon, Dr Victor Uwaifo but not many people know of his abilities and achievements as an entertainer.

Andre Vibez, who is also an in-house producer with Mavin Records is the one behind one the biggest songs this year this 2022, songs like Rema‘s “Calm Down” and “Dirty“.

He also produced Mavins record hit song “Won Da Mo“, he also produced Ayra Starr’s “Rush“ and other song from Ayra Starr‘s Album.

Kukbeats

Ever wondered who Ruger is talking to on his songs when he said ‘when I say kukuruku cook that thing’? that’s him.

Kukbeats is the one behind most Ruger‘s hit songs and he’s best known for his tag ‘Cook that thing‘.

He produced Ruger‘s “Dior“, “Snapchat” and also the current trending song “Asiwaju“.

Niphkeys

Adebajo Oluwanifemi Adebanjo also known as Niphkeys best known for producing the hit single “Koleyewon” by Naira Marley and also “Kilofeshe” by Zinoleesky in 2020.

He’s best know for the amapiano beat and he’s the brain behind most Zinoleesky‘s amapiano songs.

This year he produced couple of hit songs such as Skiibi‘s “Bobo“, Omah Lay‘s “I’m a Mess“, Mohbad‘s “Ronaldo“, Zinoleesky “Rocking“, “Loving You” and “Blessing“, Reekado Banks “Man of The Year“.
