NL LIST!! Nigerian Female Stars Who Achieved World Recognitions And Awards Recently

The entertainment industry in Nigeria is renowned for fostering extraordinary talent.

People from the entertainment, sports, fashion, and music industries have helped the nation gain recognition on a global scale.

The list of four female Nigerians who have recently garnered or achieved international recognition is provided below;

Another Nigerian singer, Temitope Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has attracted attention abroad after appearing on the soundtrack of Marvel Studios’ most recent blockbuster, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

She has done a lot on the international scene in 2022 and is the first Nigerian artist nominated for an MTV Video Music Award.

Tobi Amusan

Tobi Amusan has been quite sporty since she was a young child. At the 2013 African Youth Championships in Warri, she won a silver medal. At the 2015 African Junior Athletics Championships in Addis Abeba, she won gold in the 100-meter race. At the 2015 All-Africa Games, she also took home gold in the 100-meter sprint.
Since UTEP joined C-USA in 2016, Tobi Amusan has became the second female track athlete to represent UTEP to be named C-USA Female Track Athlete of the Year. She won the 100- and 200-meter sprints for gold. At the C-USA Championships, she won silver in the long jump as well.

Amusan broke the 13-second barrier in the sprints at the El Paso UTEP Invitational with 12.83 seconds. Kim Turner’s 33-year-old UTEP 100-meter hurdles record was broken. Tobi Amusan is an Ogun State native and athlete. Tobi made headlines a few weeks ago when she won Nigeria’s first gold medal in the World Championships in Oregon. She triumphed in the women’s 100m hurdle contest.

Ese Brume

Asserting her position on the global stage, Ese Brume won the silver medal on Monday at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, USA. She took part in the Long Jump competition and came in second.

On January 20, 1996, Ese Brume was born in Ughelli, Delta State. In 2012, she competed in the Nigerian Athletics Championships, marking her debut on the national stage. After winning gold at the 18th National Sports Festival, she gained notoriety.

The next year, she set a personal best of 6.53 m (21 ft 5 in) to finish second in the country, trailing only Blessing Okagbare. She was a standout performer in the 2013 African Junior Athletics Championships, winning the long jump title, silver in the triple jump, and being a member of Nigeria’s winning 4100 meters relay team. She also finished fourth in the 100 meters individually.

Asisat Oshoala

Asisat Oshoala is another amazing and hardworking lady on the list. In Spain, she plays for FC Barcelona. She was named African women’s player of the year a week ago. This was her fifth time winning the prize.
