Dear BBNaija Team,
Since I haven’t seen anyone say it yet, I will: if you truly have any good intention for Nigeria as it is right now, you’d have agreed to let this year’s edition of the show slide.
The fact that you have forced the show this year even when things are obviously not alright is proof that whatever happens to the average Nigerian is not much of a concern to you.
Listen guys,
This is the year when our existence as a capable human community will be put to the darnedest test. A dollar is currently converted at 650+ Naira. The country is borrowing to pay off the interest on debts it has borrowed. We are on the possible brink of Islamisation, and what do we have?
A reality TV show!!!
This is a severe insult to our intellect and a risk to the average Nigerian.
Is there no one within your management who has even the faintest idea of the doom awaiting us as a nation and the need to pay the most attention at this time?
NNPC, the richest apparatus of government, the very guys who control every oil activity in Nigeria, has decided to BORROW MONEY!
NNPC IS BROKE
Do you guys even understand what this means?
The decisions we will make in just 40 weeks will be the ultimate determinant of how life itself will go on in Nigeria — literally.
If anything, we need the best of political awareness and civic education at this time to stand a chance, not a low-quality, badly-designed, self-contained apartment to film illicit sex, immoral cohabitation, and masturbatory madness for Nigerians.
Not right now.
Look at your set design.
Look at your kitchen; the hideous colors, rickety furniture, the poor landscaping, and even the food plans. Look at the defunct audio and video quality of this year’s edition.
The microphones are howling.
Clearly, even BBNaija is not financially comfortable.
The show itself is broke, and this year’s edition should not have happened.
More than 35% of all mid-range hotels in Nigeria can no longer keep up with air-conditioning as diesel is almost at 1k per litre.
Nigerian retirees haven’t gotten their gratuities for years — some of them are now late. That’s 30+ years down the drain.
ASUU has embarked on 16 lengthy strikes in 23 years! The largest chunk of your viewers—Nigerian students—haven’t been in school for months, and it doesn’t look very hopeful either.
The average cost of services or commodities has increased by an extra 30 – 65%: haircuts, phones, food, internet tariffs, housing, clothes, cable subscriptions, and air transportation.
Nigerians cannot keep up.
Churches cannot keep up with multiple services and live streaming. Families cannot adequately refill on garri.
Then there is insurgency.
Trains are attacked and derailed.
Some nutjobs walked into a church with live ammo and riddled worshipers with bullet holes. Another set of retards attacked a nursery school and blew children’s limbs off their bodies.
And to make the statement bold enough, the convoy of Nigeria’s Commander-in-Chief, the very president, the mobile command station of Nigeria’s security and defence, was attacked!
They were crazy enough to make an attempt on the life of the President himself.
And in the face of all these, you still get to film and stream nothing but nudity, sexual oddity and foul language to Nigerians?
Such a level of insensitivity can only come from deeply ingrained selfishness. All that matters are votes and funding. For many of your viewers, their cable subscription for this show is the last one they’ve had in a while.
But your team hasn’t considered these.
I probably know nothing about the entertainment business, and of course, someone will say, “It’s just 3 months.” Look at where we live and let’s talk about how some of the most insane events in our nation slipped by like a flash.
The dollar made it to 600+ in weeks.
Insurgency is spreading to the South weekly.
If you had 50,000 Naira in June, weeks later by today, that money would be worth about 43,000 Naira. Gas per kg had increased by an extra 88 – 140 Naira in a few weeks.
That’s just a handful of the crude events that happen in Nigeria in just a few weeks, so 3 months right now is damn long enough for people to wake up and communities have been totalled.
This show is creating a major distraction while one of the most affective political decisions we will ever make slips by without our notice.
You’re about to keep us busy with porn while the fate of our lives is decided by misfits who don’t know the second thing about serving a country.
Let it be known this day that if the 2023 elections go wrong, if Nigerian youths flop in their choices this time again, the entire team of ignoramuses behind the BBN TV show wasn’t helping.
Let it be known this day that our young bloods were being distracted at the most critical time of their lives as citizens of a country.
If this goes south again, let it be remembered that BBNAIJA 2022 was inadvertently a large chuck of the mess.
Let it be remembered that the team behind the BBN TV show considered porn as superior to our collective wellbeing and integrity as Nigerians.
