NL EXCLUSIVE!!! Top 5 Artistes That Failed To Live Up To Expectations In 2021

Nigerian music industry has proved to be the real force to reckon in the entertainment world globally.

The attention we have gotten over the year has been super impressive, truth be told, the Nigerian music industry was the real face of music globally.

The industry’s vibe, seriousness, hotness, Innovative projects, Creativity, realness, and credibility keeps getting hotter by the day as artistes who fail to give a good follow up just few weeks after the release of a hit will be automatically swept out.

Unless he or she has something else to offer the mass so as to remain in the news or trends. Go hard or you go home. It’s so cold out here no one is joking here!

On today’s episode of NL EXCLUSIVE, we talk about the top 5 artistes that failed to keep up to standard and expectations.

These artistes were tipped to be the top artistes to watch out for this year but they might be stucked in between something tho! Everyone might be doing something they think is right but we all know the end result will be in the open.

Top 5 Artistes That Failed To Live Up To Expectations In 2021 👇

5.   Olakira

Do you guys even remember who Olakira is?

Well he’s the guy who sang “In My Maserati” and he had Davido jumped on The remix all back in 2020.

2020 was a great year for Adelusola Ebenezer Femi professionally known as Olakira with his massive hit single “In My Maserati” which was basically the tune of the season then both on Airplays and even on social media.

With the buzz of 2020, the fans were expecting more from Olakira in this 2021 but our dear ‘In My Maserati’ crooner was nowhere to be found in the chart.

Olakira is no doubt a very talented artiste and hopefully we will hear another banger from him come 2022.

4.   Jamo Pyper

We expected more from Jamo Pyper! 👎

After a glazing year 2020 that saw the 26-year old release hot songs like “Of Lala”, “If No Be You” & “Shomo”, Jamo, whose real name is Jamiu Damilare Tajudeen, took a rather down-ward slope the following year.

His incredible feat last year saw him nominated by the famous headies awards as rookie of the year along side Omah Lay, Tems and others.

Unfortunately, he failed to build on so far but you can never dismiss his talent. We are expecting big things from him in 2022.

3.   Vector

Vector had a great year going for him late 2020 early 2021 after dropping a single “Early Momo” with Good Girl LA.

The song went viral on Tiktok as Tiktok users tend to use the song in their videos and pic mixes, 2020 was also the year Nigerian hip hop industry would never forget so easily as vector and Mi Abaga went head to head with each other after their long time beef on their various beef tracks for each other.

This events kept vector on the radar mid last year/early this year but as of the rest of 2021 the singles that vector has released so far has not really banged compare to last year so I think it’s safe to say vector didn’t quite live up to expectation of his fans and listeners this year.

2.    Seyi Vibez

2020 was no doubt the year of Seyi Vibez, with most smashing inspirational songs coming from his camp or him featuring on it.

2020, the corona year as the world tagged it came with a whole lot of financial melt down, both on Personal level and corporate level – One thing was needed to keep Nigerians broke men association going and that was a Motivational song that everything will still make sense, and that’s exactly what Seyi Vibez gave us.

So this year 2021, after seeing Seyi’s wonder in 2020, it’s safe to expect more from him, but somehow somehow, Seyi nosedived this year.

You might want to say he dropped an EP yeah? But for real that EP “No Seyi No Vibes” didn’t click as expected sha, and I won’t take that as a good follow up for his amazing 2020.

2022 – We are expecting more motivational inclined songs that made us fall in love with his tune initially. The trenches needs some motivation to hold body.

1.   Yemi Alade

After increasing our thirsts for more better mind blowing and top charting songs off her 5th album “Empress” released last year, Yemi Alade failed made us doubt if she’s really the “King Of Queens”

2021 started a bit slow and she was only able to salvage a 7 tracked project titled “Queendomcom” which appears to be below par for we the fans whose expectations have be raised above the normal level.

The best of Our Mama Africa came in some of the visuals she released and social media was almost the only thing reminding us of our ever vibrant queen. We hope she gets back on track next year 2022 tho!

So Guys, the questions we have for you are 👇
