DO YOU AGREE? DJ Cuppy Is A Perfect Example Of “More Money Less Talent Is What You Need To Blow” In Nigeria’s Music Industry

The 29-year-old Ifeoluwa Florence Otedola popularly referred to as DJ Cuppy who is a producer, singer and disc jockey has often being a subject of criticisms on the media either for her actions or for her songs.

The philanthropist has often times being attacked on Twitter based on several topics ranging from her personal life, her family background, down to her music career.

The latest to come is from Ndani TV Presenter and renowned OAP, Shade Ladipo who has heaped praise on the “Gelato” crooner for her character but put down any chance of success in her music career.

In a post shared via her Instagram on Monday, the On-Air personality affirmed the DJ’s character but said her music has zero appeal.

Cuppy has released some amazing singles in the past with Gelato which he did with Zlatan the biggest of them.

Her single with YBNL starboy, Fireboy DML titled “Feel Good” also made waves across the country. Apparently, Fireboy did all the singing on the song but DJ Cuppy could sponsor a luxurious musical video and massive promotion.

Meanwhile much cannot be said of her talent as some see her as not too incredible compared to the talented and gifted artistes across the country.

Believe it or not, DJ Cuppy success musically so far has been a product of the fact that she has all the money to call for collaborations and promotions that some talented artistes cannot.

What Upcoming Artistes Should Learn From DJ Cuppy

This music business is a serious business that only your talent cannot help you get through. Even the biggest of all artistes still spend money on promotion.

Till now, Burna Boy still promotes some of his songs on YouTube, even Davido and Wizkid do it to rack up more numbers and income.

However, you don’t have to break the bank or go broke in an attempt to promote your music.

If you have a lot of money fine, spend it on promotion, you will get the result but if you have little funds, invest it in your music, you will see the result and as little as the result might seem, it will be step higher for you.

The numbers you get from certain promotional efforts or the fanbase you have gathered remain with you for life and no one can take that from you. As you release a song, you grow slow and steady, song-by-song till you get to the top.

Releasing music projects and not promoting to a reasonable extent is just like having a pure water factory, how do you make a profit if you don’t spend on taking the pure water out for people to see and buy?

DJ Cuppy has often been called out on social media many times by some people who are angry about the fact that her rich status is making her attain massive success as an artiste with little or no talent – Well, it is what it is!!

Do You Agree That DJ Cuppy Is a perfect example of “More Money Less Talent Is What You Need To Blow” In Nigeria’s Music Industry?
