Headies Next Rated: Do You Think Zlatan Should Be On The List?

Let quickly discuss about the Headies Next Rated Category of this year list.

This Category (Next Rated) as always been causing feud among the Nominees and I think the Headies organizers should take note of this.

In the 2015 edition, it caused a problem between YBNL and Marvin. When DonJazzy told Olamide “err, egbon Olamide. If you want the car, come and collect”. That was after Reekado Banks won it over Lil Kesh, Kizz Daniel, Cynthia Morgan, and Korede Bello.

In the 2016 edition, Tekno rejected the nomination. Just like Zlatan, he felt he had hits and was way above Aramide, Ycee, Mr. Eazi and Humblesmith.

Dearest Zlatan, I guess you reject the nomination just like Tekno or better still ask your management for orientation on how these nominations are done. Not like you deserve it sef.

Zlatan’s recent popularity may outshine others in this category. All thanks to rolling with Davido and the whole EFCC Saga. Coupled with the legwork vibe.

But in terms of raw talent that will last over a long period of time. One that will fit in successfully irrespective of trends.

Today Zanku is reigning, yesterday it was shaku and sooner than later it will be something else. If I may ask what happen to Naira Marley? He has the biggest jam on the street and he was not nominated.

If we consider the year in review Zlatan don’t have any hit single compared to Fireboy’s Jealous, Rema’s Dumebi, Joeboy’s Baby. 

If it’s a lie name it. Davido Omo Adeleke can’t help him here sorry to say. 

Bottom line is that I think Zlatan doesn’t deserve to be on the next rated category. Fireboy, Joeboy, Rema should win this, hopefully, we don’t see a replay of Lil Kesh and Reekys duel
