Did you know that Bishop David Oyedepo pay his church pastors N38K monthly?

Few days ago, Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church International aka Winners’ Chapel sacked about 40 pastors for not meeting a certain target.

According to Godwin, one of the affected pastors, claimed he was told by the management that the church doesn’t operate at a loss.

“They also told me that the total income that is being generated from my station should be able to cater for my welfare and accommodation, so as a result of low income, I’m hereby dismissed” he said.

Reacting to the allegation in a video, Bishop Oyedepo said the sack of the pastors was not about money, adding that they were sacked as a result of their faliure to win souls to God and the church “has no patience with failure”.

Just yesterday, another pastor, who was among the 40 recently sacked pastors, explained how pastors who were graduates got N38,000 as salaries.

The pastor noted that the gross salary was N53,000 but they were paid N38,000 as the rest was supposed to cover for pension and housing allowance.

The victim, who preferred to speak on condition of anonymity, noted that the money deducted for pensions was not even remitted to their bank accounts until their sack and outrage went viral.

He said,

“Oyedepo and his senior Pastors knew they would sack us before employing us. That was why they gave us employment on probation. Someone went online to post lies in support of the church that the recently sacked pastors were being paid N80,000 and house rent of N150,000.

“I will just say a little here; no employed pastor was paid N80,000 in the church. The highest salary is for degree holders which is N53,000 and, this N53,000 is not the net salary at the end of the month. The pastor will only receive N38,000 at the end of the month; N6,000 goes to the pension account and N9,000 goes to house rent account.

It is very funny that the pastors, we honoured, could keep the money they removed from our salaries in their personal bank accounts for long without paying into our pension accounts. It was when they sacked us that they started paying into the pension accounts”.

You can imagine what una Daddy GO is doing! WTF will 38,000 naira buy in Nigeria today? And most of these employed pastors are married with children. You can imagine!

Now let’s talk about Oyedepo’s networth. Oyedepo is the wealthiest preacher in Nigeria with a net worth of over US$150 million.

He owns about 2-3 private jets. The cost of 1 private jet is over $3 million for a pre-owned light jet, to more than $50 million for a heavy jet like a Global 6000 or Gulfstream 650ER.

Don’t tell me he hired the jets. Even if he does, it doesn’t make any difference.

How much does it cost to charter a private jet in Nigeria? In Nigeria, most private jet charter companies charge as much as $4,500 – $6,000 per hour. So, a $4,500 private hire will amount to approximately ₦1.78 Million Naira.

We haven’t talked about the packing space. Private jet owners pay N5,000 for hourly parking of their aircraft in any airport across the country and according to the weight of airplane. Oyedepo owns about 2 jets. Now do the calculation.
