Davido’s “Aye” Vs Wizkid’s “On Top Your Matter” — Which Was A Better Hit?

It’s Thursday guys!! So let’s throwback to some good old vibes.

Remember in 2014, both Davido and WizKid were dominating the music industry, making big hits, selling out shows and gaining international recognition.

Around this time was when they both dropped some of their biggest hits ever. While Davido didn’t have an album that year (he had a lot of singles), it was that same year that WizKid released his second album, “Ayo.”

“On Top Your Matter,” a song produced by Del B, was one of the lead singles for the “Ayo” album. It was no doubt a very big hit back in the day, it dominated the airwaves and was everywhere on the streets.

The song which has an up-tempo afro-pop instrumental was just one of the numerous WizKid songs that were hot then.

Likewise, Davido released “Aye” in 2014, and it was real madness! There was nowhere you got to then where there was no “Aye.”

Unlike Wizkid‘s fast-paced “On Top Your Matter” though, “Aye” has a very calm low-tempo beat and was produced by Igbo producer and Runtown‘s frequent collaborator, T Spize.

Honestly, Davido was one of the few artists that can take a Runtown song and make it such a big hit that everyone could sing it word-for-word.

Anyway, both singles are definitely big hits and worth all the hype they’ve gotten over the year.
