Masterkraft is an OG. The man really just needs to do an album, release some more joint cuts with some big artists like Wizkid, and retire.
When you say someone has done it all, yeah, you’re just saying that person has some something as well as Masterkraft has done music.
Mastaa has worked with almost everyone notable in the industry in the past decade. His career is illustrious, to say the least.
No doubt all Masterkraft songs are mad, but we can’t deny, some are really iconic. Quickly, here’s a rank of top ten songs by Masterkraft.
1. Wizkid – No Lele
You probably didn’t know one of the biggest street anthems ever made was produced by the legendary Masterkraft. Well, it was.
“No Lele” which is one of the singles from Wizkid‘s classic debut, “Superstar,” is where it all began for Masterkraft, as a matter of fact. Because it was a monster hit.
2. Phyno – Link Up ft. Burna Boy, M.I Abaga
The Masterkraft and Phyno link up (no pun intended) is indeed an iconic one. They’ll forever be a legendary duo.
“Link Up” is a song that should be added to the Nigerian hip-hop museum, if we ever have one. Master finished work on this one, make we no lie.
3. Kizz Daniel – Sin City
One of the stand-out singles on Kizz Daniel‘s first abum, “New Era” released in 2016. “Sin City” is one of those songs that you know nobody else could’ve done better. A-Z, you can feel Masterkraft’s work all over it.
4. Masterkraft – Finally ft. Flavour, Sarkodie
This song especially became a hit after it was featured in the Nigerian blockbuster movie, The Wedding Party in 2017. But, it was a Masterkraft song, so yeah, of course it was a hit. What else would it be?
“Finally” comfortably has one of the best afro beats Masterkraft has ever done.
5. CDQ – Nowo Soke ft. Wizkid
At the time, WizKid and CDQ, were a very unusual duo, to be honest. Surprised everybody that the international Wiz wants to even sing a hook for local boy, CDQ.
“Nowo Soke” was one for the streets and it was a smash. Does CDQ even have any other song bigger than this?
6. Masterkraft – Indomie ft. CDQ, Olamide
Oh, and in comes “Indomie,” Masterkraft‘s 2014 hit that was so huge on the streets it got a Davido remix.
Maybe there were reservations about the remix? So what. You just cannot deny how big this hit was that year.
7. Vector – No Peace
Another artist Masterkraft frequently works with is VEC. They even have a whole EP together, “Crossroads.”
“No Peace,” one of Vector tha Viper‘s best songs in recent times is from the project. The soulful hip-hop instrumental was courtesy of none other than Masterkraft.
8. Lynxx – Fine Lady ft. Wizkid
Lynxx is perhaps one of the biggest one-hit wonders of our time, because “Fine Lady” was a bop in and around 2012 when it was released.
Wizkid‘s part on the song is iconic, for sure. But we should not overlook the work Masterkraft put into that instrumental.
9. Wizkid – Medicine
After Wizkid‘s first international stint with Sounds From The Other Side, in 2017, the youngster came back home and linked up Masterkraft.
The result of that link up are two iconic songs, “Odoo” and “Medicine.” The latter even got a remix with Phyno and Flavour.
10. Masterkraft – Hallelu ft. Bella Shmurda, Zlatan
This is somehow still the best produced Bella Shmurda song we have. “Hallelu” also doubles as one of the best amapiano jams of 2020.
Many people focused on the delivery from Bella and Zlatan, when in fact, the real magic apparently came from Sunny Nweke himself.
