It will be deemed significant to be talking about a Marlian Record’s signee’s body of work (Zinoleeksy – Chrome Eccentric) exactly a year after the President flagged off the label.
Zinoleeksy has always had a familiar ring with us from his days of posting freestyle videos on Instagram, the next best thing to happen to him was getting signed to a record label where he fits in and the world watched his transformation from there.
Opportunity met Zino’s preparation by being allied with Naira Marley about this time last year and it was also a test on his consistency in disguise.
There seemed not to be any doubt about his productivity but he really needed to show what he’s got.
It was easy to insinuate that Zinoleesky may take the trend of assisted tracks by Naira Marley as he did on his debut single off the label, Caro, till months later when he singlehandedly released Mapariwo.
Anybody with barely any expectation from talents that emerged from the trenches will have a change of heart from Zino’s sojourn.
The end of a whole career year was approaching for every individual from different walks of life when Chrome Eccentric EP was released.
We were going to make do with just a couple of singles he managed to drop before proven otherwise. That was a bold move, now let’s talk about it:
Zinoleesky – Chrome Eccentric EP Review
Eccentric Chrome is a 6-tracker EP and the debut body of work by the Headies “Rookie Artist of the Year” nominee. This only goes to show his strength and tenacity in the industry in such a short time.
“I did this for the people that had faith in me from day one till date and every other person that supports my sound.”
-Zinoleeksy
Working with Rexxie would be highly predicted on this project.
He made sure to do one thing, which was staying trendy. This is the point where fresh singers usually get to show their real genre, so this is his maybe.
This Extended Play work is a well-nourished version of his street freestyle tracks from his struggling days.
It is amazing to find out that there’s a future in those unmastered songs – that’s what we have as some super cool tunes today on the EP.
He obviously tried to express himself with different melodies on this EP. Let’s hear:

Track 1 – Angeli
Resembling an old gospel folk music we’ve heard from times past, it was quite artistic and the storytelling idea wins hearts.
Positioning the track first on the EP was a good choice, it will keep leading you on to more on the body of work.
It sends a message of consciousness to the mind of the listener.
You will get more comfortable with Zinoleesky’s sound from here and trust him enough to explore more resources.
Track 2 – Won Wa Mi
Hearing first hand that Rexxie produced this track makes one even more comfortable; trusting that the hit producer will do justice to the song.
It didn’t give off a typical Marlian sound and that will be very worthy of mention as you keep listening.
Fetching a few lines from past music “Americana Wonder” implies an alert musical mind who is truly not afraid to move around.
“Won wa mi” as a song title fits in perfectly with related materials.
Track 3 – Mapariwo
This was a certified hit before the EP compilation. What this track did on the EP is to reveal how personal Zino is with his sound.
Given more elements, the output of this EP is quite promising.
If Mayorkun jumping on the cover of the song means anything, then it’s a big deal
Track 4 -Nitori E
Seems like each track on the Chrome Eccentric EP is an avenue for the Caro singer to show more of his style of music.
That’s right about the level where he is now – a place of getting a wider audience acquitted to his sound see if he has a shot.
Expectations of Zino are quite high because he started his homework right from the underground level. It only gets better from here for him definitely
He comfortably portrays the refined side of the No Manaz gang by his content
Track 5 – Kilofeshe
This was a topping to Zinoleesky’s cream on the EP. What was known of him took a different turn when he released this off the EP debut.
He switched gears entirely on this track and beckoned everyone to enjoy with him, Kilofeshe and few more tracks on the EP are hit quality tracks.
What he did on this was to skillfully capture a creative storyline. If the track stands the test of time, it can make an anthem.
It is a theme song that can be tied to a whole lot of strong meanings than the singer is aware of.
The lyrics could bear more ounces of weight and bits of his real-life were not hidden in his songs.
Track 6 – Bullet
It is on this track that how unanimous Zinoleeksy sounded all through the EP will be revealed. There wasn’t so much variety to his sound.
His style and tempo were on the same wavelength all through but we are not the judge of how good or bad that is for business.
It is believed that Zinoleeky’s growth in the industry will bear fruits.
