Last week, we had quite an impressive lineup of artists delivering new releases.
Simi’s long-anticipated fourth studio album, “TBH (To Be Honest)” is the latest project that is the talk of the town.
Naira Marley also came through with his debut album, “God’s Timing’s The Best” which has since garnered a whopping 81 million streams on the AudioMack platform.
However, Simi and Naira Marley are not the only artists who came through for us during the course of last week. We also had songs from other artists like Niniola, 1da Banton, and more.
As the new week begins, here are 5 songs from last week that we think you should listen to
1. Naira Marley — Melanin ft. Lil Kesh
Off his recently released debut, “Melanin” is that ultimate Naira Marley and Lil Kesh.
A love number about a low-key dark-skinned girl who the guys want to die for.
Besides being one of the best songs on the album, “Melanin” also goes a long way to show us just how good Lil Kesh has become.
That song is basically a Lil Kesh song; he took over it and it wouldn’t have worked without him.
2. Naira Marley — Montego Bay
Another one from “God’s Timing’s The Best,” this is one of those conscious Naira Marley vibes that you just can’t get over.
“Me I have God, I never panic,” he rapped on the second verse of the afro hip-hop track. There’s something that no one can do better than Naira Marley and this is one of them.
3. Simi — Loyal ft. Fave
This is the fourth track from “TBH (To Be Honest)” and it features the Rookie of the Year, “Baby Riddim” crooner, Fave.
“Loyal” is a very good song with meaningful and quite sensible lyrics, so you’re bound to enjoy this one for sure. The album is quite good too, to be honest.
4. Jamopyper — Tease Me
It’s been a while since Jamopyper was one of the most promising guys in the industry. In 2020, he was really something.
But let’s not be quick to forget that he’s actually not a fluke and he has a lot of talent. The things he could actually do if he’s consistent with the jams yo.
He released “Tease Me” last week and it’s a real bop. It’s got mad amapiano vibes and everything should put this one on their playlist for sure!
5. Blaqbonez — Go Home
Well, I guess we can say the best rapper in Africa is back. With “Go Home,” Blaqbonez is setting the tone and bringing back the conversation about how he’s one of the best rappers in the game right now.
“Go Home” is in tune with the times and is pure drill. He came with all of his lyrical capabilities on this one. Can anyone really hold a candle to Blaqbonez right now?
