Nigerian Pastor And His Ex-lover At War Over Viral Sex Video
The Presiding Pastor of Zionwealth of Life Assembly in the Lekki area of Lagos State, Apostle Chris Omatsola, and his former lover, Tamaratokoni Okpe, have clashed over a sex video that was leaked on the Internet.
While Okpe, who hails from Delta State, accused Omatsola of releasing the video to force her into marriage with him, the cleric told Punch Metro that the video was leaked to blackmail him.
Punch gathered that the two estranged lovers dated for about seven months in 2018, during which they had sexual intercourse, which was filmed.
However, shortly after things fell apart between them, the lurid video emerged on the Internet. Okpe, in her account of the incident, said the pastor had threatened to leak the video after she quit the relationship.
She said:
“I met Apostle Chris Kevwe Omatsola, the founder and pastor of Zionwealth of Life Assembly (Zola) in Lekki, Lagos, and we started dating in February 2018. It quickly escalated to a sexual relationship and when we had sex the first time, he told me that we should make it right by getting married. We continued our romance and one of the things we did together was recording videos and taking pictures of our intimacy.
“I informed my mum about a guy coming for my hand in marriage and she said she was going to pray about it. Everything was rosy until he became violent and constantly beat me up till I bled. He came begging after each episode and I forgave him.”
She said by July, she had become indifferent about the relationship. Okpe alleged that the cleric’s temperament and constant assault of her also discouraged her.
“In August, I called off the relationship and I was surprised that he accepted it in good faith initially, given his penchant for violence.
“Sometime in August, he asked that we meet to talk on platonic grounds. During the meeting, he became hostile when he realised that I was no longer interested in him. He also refused to drop me off at home. He beat me up, seized my phone, forced me to unlock it and retrieved contacts from it just to track who I was seeing.
“That was the final straw for me; so I never saw him again till September when he showed up at my place, crying and begging. I refused to fall for his tricks and there was no further communication from both sides till sometime early October when he apologised again.
“On October 13, he contacted me with an anonymous number via WhatsApp with pictures, videos and threat messages, saying if I did not come back to him, he was going to release everything,” she added.
She noted that she was surprised when at 7pm that day, people called her attention to the nude video and pictures circulating on the Internet.
The Computer Science graduate said the case was reported to the police and Omatsola was arrested the following day.
“He said now that my pictures and videos were out there, no man would want to look my way again; that it was best we got married.
“After the arrest, in the presence of his dad, he confessed to releasing the pictures and video. He apologised to me, my family, his family and the public. This was recorded on October 19, 2018, and I am in possession of the video. He even accepted to pay damages,” she said.
Okpe, who noted that she regretted the relationship, said she had faced ridicule from friends and family members.
“I was wrong to have been involved in premarital sex with a pastor. I was wrong to have allowed him persuade me to record our intimate moments. I have been fielding questions from my colleagues. I hope that this will pass soon,” she added.
When Punch contacted the cleric, he said his former lover was out to fleece him, adding that he could not have posted the sex video since he had his reputation to protect.
He added that a second video of him confessing to posting the sex video was done under duress.
He said:
“I never did anything of that nature and she does not have anything to prove it (assault). How do you, a popular pastor with a church in Lekki Phase One, leak your own sex video with your face on it? How does that work?
“That video (confessional video) was done under duress because I was picked up by the same lady and she demanded N200m (from me) for leaking the video, which I did not leak.
She has it on her phone and I have it on my phone. So, she picked me up. My dad and the lawyer agreed that I should do a (confessional) video and it was under duress.
“The police were there, the Investigating Police Officer was there; I am supposed to pay that girl N1m before the end of this month.
“This (sex) video came from an unknown telephone number. I started getting calls on Sunday morning while I was in church and somebody said my sex video was all over the Internet. I called the blog that posted it to take it down.
“The next day, the police came to arrest me for it. I went to the station and I was detained; my lawyer came to take my bail. I was taken to the police headquarters where I was told that part of the conditions for bail was for me to make that (confessional) video. I needed to do it to come out to defend myself. You can’t defend yourself in a cell.”
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Chike Oti, said investigation was ongoing.

Media personality, Toke Makinwa while speaking in her new vlog said that dating a guy for over 5 years is a waste of time.
Toke who is divorced from ex-husband, Maje Ayide, said she is talking from experience as she has also being in a long term relationship. She stated that having a long term relationship does not translate to a happy married life when the couple decide to tie the knot. She said;
“I do not understand why you should date someone for more than two and a half years. That is my take. I feel like if you meet someone, two years is decent, two and half years is decent, By three years, its like ‘what again are your trying to find out’.
What didn’t you find out in the first and second year. I feel like 5 years is taking the piece and for seven years, you are absolutely having a laugh. By 10 years, it’s like ”are you the lord of the rings? I can say this because I have been in a long term relationship so I can tell you how I feel about it. My answer is no because I feel like often times, long courtships do not translate to a happy marriage.
Sometimes you find people who date forever and when they get married, they don’t make it past that year or two or three years. You find people who get married in a year and a half and 10 years down the line, they are still together. When people show you who they are, you have to believe them.
If you find yourself in a five year, seven years 10 years relationship, it is enough for you to sit back and ask the guy what is going on and where are we going to?
Why would you want to date someone for seven years. In that seven years, some people have gotten together, gotten married, had children, divorced and you are still this person’s girlfriend. There is nothing that you would not find out in three years that you want to find out in eight years.”
On the recent breakup between Cassie and Diddy, Toke said:
Cassie and Diddy everyone is talking about. They dated for eleven years. She was a baby when they met. This was a girl who came out, had an amazing single, very stunning young lady, all of a sudden she started dating Diddy. A lot of people asked questions because we have all known Diddy as a guy who has found it had to commit.
He has had babymamas, he was engaged for a very long time. He has never hidden the fact that he is not the commitment type of guy. I have always often wondered why Cassie stayed that long. This is a girl that could have done so much more in the last eleven years than traveling with Diddy, kissing him on Instalive and just being his girlfriend.
If you are stuck in a relationship with someone who can empower you and all they would rather see you as is a hand bag, girl you should walk away. It semed like she was more into the relationship than her own self development.
I don’t kno her and this is not judgement against her because people do whatever it is that makes them happy but I feel that a lot of people tend to date for a long time, hoping that it would either lead to marriage and sometimes it’s often not the case. And now Diddy is dating a younger girl. I almost cried when I heard it. A 26 year old girl.
Cassie if you ever watch the video, you have to upgrade. You have to go and find a Russian billionaire. You know the type if you don’t like to work, they would keep you in Gucci and Gold for the rest of your life. Then just hire Diddy to perform at your wedding. Just hire him because you feel like paying him some coins. That is the best revenge you can give to a guy like that.

Embattled Ganduje Invited By Kano House Of Assembly After Allegedly Being Caught On Tape Taking Bribe
The Kano State House of Assembly on Wednesday invited the embattled governor of the state, Abdullahi Ganduje, to appear before an ad-hoc committee probing the bribe-taking videos of the governor, according to a report by Daily Nigerian.
Recall that he had on October 14 and 15 in videos exclusively published by Daily Nigerian showing Mr Ganduje receiving bribe in dollars.
Following the dust raised by the videos, the Assembly constituted a committee on October 15 to establish the authenticity of the videos.
The publisher/editor-in-chief of Daily Nigerian had testified before the committee on October 15, insisting that the videos were genuine.
Insiders told Daily Nigerian that the governor is expected to appear before the committee on Friday.
Sources told Daily Nigerian that the governor held a meeting with the speaker of the House of Assembly, Kabiru Rurum, and some top government officials on Tuesday.
During the meeting, insiders said the governor pleaded with the speaker not to invite him to testify before the committee.
“The governor was angry with the speaker as he refused to cover up the matter. The only option now left is to plot the speaker’s removal,” said a source.
“But the removal of the speaker appears very difficult as he has the control of more than two third of the house.”
The governor’s spokesman, Salihu Yakasai, neither answered our reporter’s call nor replied an SMS seeking confirmation.
