Adekunle Gold released his third studio album titled “Afro Pop (Vol. 1)” a direct relationship to the whole of Africa
It takes so long to collate these 10 tracks album as they are all superb exclusively. One needs to calmly listen to the sounds, messages, and melody of each song well before having any say.
Adejare’s daddy gave us the tips of the iceberg having dropped “Something Different” long before releasing the album to make us thirsty for such tune. Now that the album is out, I can’t help but put on repeat every damn time.
Read with me below as I review the album one after the other according to the tracklist arrangement.
1. AG Baby ft Nailah Blackman
“They see me balling, they wan copy, And i see them but just wannabes, yeah, Number one father, Original original Don da da, Dem dey underate man, They don’t know nothing”
See lyrics menh Adekunle just burst my head with this flows. Their papa!
This track was sweetly packaged with Nailah Blackman, a Trinidadian singer and songwriter most strongly associated with the soca genre.

2. Sabina
You already know Adekunle Gold is not a dependant. He solely murdered this track.
A love song to request for another chance from your love partner. Thank God, I dn get something I go sing for this Anike girl if I dn fuck up.
See chorus; “Sabina Sabina Sabina, Don’t give up on me now, Sabina Sabina Sabina, I want to fight for you, Sabina Sabina Sabina”.

3. Pretty Girl ft Patoranking
The combo of Adekunle Gold and Patoranking is something we’ve never experience in the music industry.
Double African vibes on a single track, Afro Pop plus Reggae equal to what? You need to listen to the song before you can answer this question.

4. Okay
You need to plug your earphone and rock this jam in a cool environment.
It’s a non-rush vibe as you only need to move your head along and a little bodywork.

5. Here For Ya
In the music industry generally, love songs take the largest ratio but not all music listener sounds well on it.
I can boast to you that only a few artistes do this love thing better; Kiss Daniel, Adekunle Gold, Simi are perfect on this.
“So let me take you, Faraway faraway faraway, Girlie I love you, All the way all the way all the way”

6. Exclusive ft Olayinka Ehi
A slow tempo tune, this song literally control mood. Be warn!
Olayinka Ehi, Nigerian born, New York-based singer-songwriter contributed to Adekunle’s project to round up the six-track.

7. Firewood ft Tekno
Tekno really did perfectly on his stanza to excellent the seventh track with a love verse.
Featuring Tekno for this particular song is a good idea for Simi’s husband.

8. Something Different
This tune is definitely something different sincerely cause it’s slap so different. Nice one AG Baby!
I love this part in the song; “It could have been something different. You say you want money, baby, oh. We could be loving, my honey. Kissing and cuddling live in Miami, oh”

9. Water Carry Me
“If I lie for your love Oh dyna, Water carry me go, Far away”
This is another love song as you already know Adekunle Gold is a preacher of love.

10. My Ex
Have been suspecting Adekunle Gold ever since I heard “Damn Delilah” in About 30 Album.
It seems his ex has done something too bad for him to get her erased in his memory. Aunty Simisola, you have a lot of work to do.
Anyway, this is another dupe sound to enjoy as it ends the album.

Our Say On The Album
The 10 tracks are properly produced, mixed and mastered. It’s not by dishing meaningless 25 tracks.
Adekunle Gold should have been given the “Odogu” title for serving us good content but it seems he prefers to be our daddy.
The word “AG Baby is your daddy” to me sounds like self-esteem not until I listened to the amazing project. No cap! Their father!
If the battle of the best artiste in Africa is mainly by good content there’s a high chance Adekunle Gold will bring home the award.
Our rating on the album 8/10 ★★★★★★★★☆☆
The big question we want to ask you music lovers is.
Are You Feeling The Album?
